About Welcome Home Ranch
and Director, Stanlee Smith:
As the owner/director of this property/ program I am certified through Barbara Rector's Adventures in Awareness Equine Facilitated Learning Program, as well as EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association) certification.
We are located on 5 beautiful acres just a few miles outside Montrose, with incredible views of the Grand Mesa. The director and facilitator of our property and programs, Horses Helping People, Stanlee’s main passions is exactly what she has been studying for the last 7 years: Women’s Empowerment.
In collaboration with a colleague, Stanlee is developing a series of workshops called The Vintage Years, an initiation into “Elderhood.” This program will evolve into a community support group for women in their second half of life as well as a ‘Women of Wisdom’ Envisioning Circle.
At Welcome Home Ranch we also have an 8-week summer horse camp called, Read And Succeed With Horses, an enrichment program for young people. We have had much success with this event so for 2020 we would like to have two camps for different age levels.
Over the past 15 years Welcome Home Ranch has evolved into much more than EAL (Equine Assisted Learning).....although the work with the horses is the center of our offering. The higher intention of Welcome Home Ranch is to provide a refuge and a safe but inspiring environment for people to heal, transform and awaken to their deeper essence and authentic purpose.
Welcome Home Ranch is intended to be a sanctuary for healing, transformation and learning, with horses at the center of our programs. Our vision is to create a multi-dimensional experience for those who come to us, whether in the form of private sessions, workshops, or retreats. To create this experience we combine the equine work with various healing activities like art, music, movement, meditative explorations and ‘humanship through horsemanship’ as processes that assist one in healing, transformation and self-actualization.
TO APPLY: Please provide your current resume with work experience, 2-3 personal and professional references, and a cover letter indicating your vision & goals as well as your work ethic/character. Send to: stanleewelcome@gmail.
